보다 -- to see, look, watch

내다보다 -- to look out at, predict

(to put out, show + 보다)

이륙 중에 제가 무서워서 창문 밖을 절대로 내다보지 않아요.

During takeoff I never look out of the window because it scares me.

제가 가끔 앞날을 내다봤으면 좋겠어요.

Sometimes I wish I could see into the future.

바라보다 -- to gaze on/at

(to anticipate + 보다)

산봉우리에서 얼마나 먼 곳을 바라볼 수 있어요?

How far can you see from the top of the mountain?

알아보다 -- to look into, recognise, find out

(to know + 아 + 보다)

영국에 돌아갈 때 제가 친구들이 저를 알아보지 못 할 것이라고 생각해요.

When I go back to the UK I think my friends won't recognise me.

저는 인터넷으로 세종대왕의 삶에 대해서 알아봤어요.

I found out about the life of King Sejong on the internet.

쳐다보다 to stare at

한국인은 저에게 아무 말 없이 저를 자주 쳐다봐요.

Koreans often stare at me without saying anything.
