If: 만약(에) with (으)면

만약(에) has no real meaning  in itself but can be used at the start of sentences with 으면. It gives greater clarity and a stronger sense of condition than using just (으)면:

만약에 나쁜 날씨가 있으면 여행을 연기될거에요.

If the weather is bad the trip will be cancelled.

만약 너무 오랫동안 기다리면 버스를 놓칠 거에요.

If we wait too long we will miss the bus.

버스를 타는 대신에 만약 자동차로 광주에 가면 더 일찍 도착해요.

If you drive to Gwangju instead of taking the bus you arrive earlier.

만약 시험에 떨어지면 부모님은 저에게 화날 거에요.

If I fail the exam my parents will be furious.

만약에 지금은 직장을 그만두면 연말 상여금을 받지 않을 거예요.

If you quit your job now, you won't receive your end of year bonus.
